Zandvoort Attractions Guide

Some of the spots you should not miss in Zandvoort: 1. The Cultureel Centru, (Cultural Center) -- Located in Gasthuisplein, this cultural center is housed in an old building where glimpses into the old Zandvoort’s life is exhibited. Their historic home interiors, old boats, and equipment of fishermen are showcased here. You can also see paintings, treasured, old Zandvoort’s postcards, relics of a bygone age, and models of their old buildings. Video presentations are also available for the visitors’ viewing. 2. Jutter Museum – “Jutten” actually means to pick up or collect things from the beach. This museum displays all sorts of objects found on the beach. Some of them were probably thrown or lost by boats. Some stuffs were probably left by the tourists. 3. Naturist Beach – Sometimes called the Nudist Beach, this 3-kilometer stretch of sand and water to the south was first designated as such in 1975. It extends from Paal 68 to Paal 71 (Paal is a wooden picket set along the beach at intervals of 250 meters). You may be a little hesitant in trying this place especially if you haven’t been to one of the same kind, but it may be worth a try. After all, everyone who goes and unwinds here is clothe-less and you have nothing to be ashamed of. Some of the café owners in this beach have been here for more than a decade and they say that regular patrons of the place are professional people who simply want to breakaway from their real-world routine. 4. Zandvoort Circus – Found in the heart of the village, built in 1986, Zandvoort Circus is a huge amusement place with a lot of the latest electronic games that children and adults alike can enjoy. Kids love this place especially when they win some prizes from some of the games. A separate place is also available for adults to play slot machines. Within the circus, a cinema complex shows the latest films both in English and in other languages (subtitled of course). 5. Zandvoort Casino – The casino is one of the hottest spots here especially for adult business people. It has several bars and restaurants where people can enjoy live entertainment. It has about 280 slot machines, 20 gaming tables that include Blackjack, Big Wheels, Punto Banco, American Roulette, and Caribbean Stud. It is on Zandvoortse Boulevard, walking distance from the center and has a nice view of the Northern Sea. 6. The Kroon Stand – This stand on the boardwalk has a wide variety of fish to choose from. Although it may not be your typical tourist spot, visiting the Kroon would be a nice experience to further know what the town is all about. After all, it was simply a fishing village in the old world. You may want to try buying some of their products. Some fish are already prepared while some are still fresh and may be requested to be cooked. It will be a great way to experience eating fish that you have just seen alive minutes ago. Talk about real freshness!
